Course Overview
The Ducting Fabrication course provides specialized hands-on training in HVAC sheet metal ducting design, cutting, folding, jointing, and site installation. Ducting technicians are vital components in modern commercial buildings, airports, hospitals, and industrial facilities.
Trainees work directly with galvanized iron (GI) sheets, insulation materials, airflow dampers, diffusers, and power shearing machines under experienced MEP instructors.
What You Will Learn
Sheet Metal Pattern Drafting: Reading HVAC drawings, duct sizing, and triangulation layout patterns.
Cutting & Bending Techniques: Using hand shears, power nibblers, folding machines, and Pittsburgh lock formers.
Duct Jointing & Flanging: Assembling C-cleats, S-cleats, TDC/TDF flange joints, and airtight sealing.
Thermal Insulation & Acoustic Lining: Applying fiberglass insulation, aluminum foil jacketing, and soundproofing.
Site Installation & Hangers: Hanger rod installation, duct alignment, damper fitting, and pressure leak testing.
