Course Overview

The Masonry & Plastering course prepares trainees for high-quality brickwork, blockwork, wall plastering, surface rendering, and architectural finishing. Masons play a core role in both structural integrity and surface aesthetics of modern buildings.

Under hands-on guidance, students learn smooth plaster application, corner screeding, damp proofing, and surface float finishing for internal and external walls.

What You Will Learn

Structural Masonry: Laying bricks, concrete hollow blocks, thermal blocks, and stone masonry walls.
Plastering & Rendering: Undercoat plaster, finish coat plaster, smooth trowel float finish, and ceiling plastering.
Corner & Edge Alignment: Installing corner beads, screed lines, window sills, and arch surrounds.
Damp Proofing & Surface Prep: Waterproof plaster additives, spatterdash coats, and crack prevention.
Tools & Quality Control: Wooden floats, hawk trowels, straight edges, spirit levels, and plumb bob checks.
